D4A at the IX National Conference of ABEA in Plovdiv (BG)
The International Fair of Plovdiv holds a number of seasonal exhibitions, among them – the International Technical Fair of Plovdiv attended by exhibitors and visitors from the field of technology and mechanics. In 2015, app. 100 exhibitors were present, and 2 500 visitors.
During the Technical Fair of Plovdiv, the annual conference of the Association of the Bulgarian Energy Agencies was held. The Regional Observatory for Energy, Environment and Climate was presented to energy experts, municipal representatives, ministry representatives, ecologists, etc. The background of the need for the Observatory was explained and defined as well as the studies over the data exchange practices. Ms. Ina Karova presented the concept of the Observatory, its functionalities and benefits for the local authorities.
Meanwhile, at the stand of the ABEA and EAP during the Fair, additional information was given for the Observatory and its role for the society and the local communities.

New interactive maps show Thermal resources available in regions
The EU-funded STRATEGO project recently published the Pan-European Thermal Atlas (PETA), an interactive map that shows data on the thermal resources available in any region as well as EU-wide thermal demand. PETA maps heat and cooling demand, the local density of both demands, available waste heat resources and the potential for renewable energy sources.
