ENERGee-Watch is presenting at the INSPIRE Conference 2014 in Denmark this June!
We are pleased to inform you that the abstract we submitted to present ENERGee Watch at this year’s conference has been selected! What is the INSPIRE Directive?
The INSPIRE directive came into force on 15 May 2007 and will be implemented in various stages, with full implementation required by 2019. It aims to create a European Union (EU) spatial data infrastructure. This will enable the sharing of environmental spatial information among public sector organisations and better facilitate public access to spatial information across Europe. A European Spatial Data Infrastructure will assist in policy-making across boundaries. Therefore the spatial information considered under the directive is extensive and includes a great variety of topical and technical themes.
INSPIRE annual conferences
Each year a European INSPIRE conference is held to provides a forum for stakeholders from government, academia and industry to hear about and discuss the latest developments of the INSPIRE Directive. It provides an excellent opportunity to present Europe’s INSPIRE Directive to the community and hear about the developments in National SDIs. The conferences are organised through a series of plenary sessions addressing common policy issues, and parallel sessions and workshops focusing in particular on applications and implementations of SDIs, research issues and new and evolving technologies and applications.
