Using data to help Kent identify business opportunities and threats in the low carbon economy

Kent County Council is one of 9 partners participating in an Interreg IV A 2 Seas-funded project called Fusion which aims to grow the economy of the 2 Seas region through ‘eco-innovation’, without increasing the ecological footprint of the region. As part of the project Kent County Council will support the development of new sustainable business models in Kent and the expansion of the low carbon, environmental technologies sector through developing effective policies and strategies and targeted business support packages.

Commission welcomes approval of improved EU rules for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions, including forestry and agriculture

March 12, 2013: The European Commission welcomes the European Parliament’s approval of two new laws to improve EU rules on monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions, including those from forestry and agriculture. It is expected that the Council adopts these laws, after which they will be published in the Official Journal and will enter into force.
