UK – Local Energy Data Collection for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventories

Energee-Watch

1 July 2015

This webinar informs participants about energy data collection practices in the United Kingdom, and provides practical advice and discussion on energy data gathering and processing for the purposes of establishing a BEI/MEI as part of a Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP).

The webinar notably drew on the outcomes and learnings from the IEE projects MESHARTILITY and SEAP+.

Aimed to: Practitioners on local energy data collection, heads of municipal departments (energy, climate, environment, transport), local and regional energy agencies, local and regional elected leaders (mayors, deputy mayors, councillors), representatives of other levels of government, including national policy-makers.

Observatory – Technical Chamber of Greece Energy Observatory

Municipalities have limited or no access to energy consumption data of public buildings, public lighting, transport, the residential and tertiary sector, as well as energy produced from renewable energy sources. Data from these sectors are essential, especially in energy planning.

Approximated EU GHG inventory: proxy GHG estimates for 2015

This EEA report provides estimates of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the European Union (EU) and its Member States for 2015, covering the full GHG inventory (all sectors, except land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF), and all gases).

Rhône-Alpes launches Regional Observatory of the Impacts of Climate Change

Warming of the climate is ongoing, and the preparation work for the Regional Climate Air and Energy Scheme of Rhône-Alpes (SRCAE) highlighted its already observed effects and their likely intensification in the future: rising average temperatures, melting glaciers, changing rainfall patterns…

DATA4ACTION Conference: Observatories for Energy and GHG, a strong support to the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy

Regional and local public authorities design, implement and monitor Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs). The Covenant of Mayors initiative provides support at each stage of this process. However, the success of these tasks as well as the improvement of the SECAPs can be guaranteed only through the availability of energy and GHG data. […]
