Description

The observatory monitors:

  • Primary and final energy consumption.
  • Energy production (from both renewable and non-renewable sources).
  • Energy production plants level (number of installations, power,…).
  • Energetic GHG emissions in the following sectors: buildings, transport, industry and agriculture (excluding forestry and land use change). The declared monitored gases are: CO2, CH4 and N2O. GHG emissions related to energy production are not double-counted (only from consumption).
  •  Air quality level.
  • Climatic evolution of the region.
  • Data comes from actors and enquiries.

Main Objectives

The main objective of the Observatory is to follow the level of achievement of the Regional Scheme of Climate, Air and Energy adopted in the region in 2013. In this way, it has setted up a comprehensive database for air, climate & energy providing data at municipal level.

The Observatory also edits an annual report published every year between October and December. It contains the main data about energy, climate and air aggregated at a regional level.

All the data are open to anyone and free of charge. It also concern the results of specific studies which are carried (3 or 4 studies each year).
