The planning and management of the Piemonte Region represent essential aspects of the policies for the governance of the territory, a transversal matter of connection and synthesis of the various environmental disciplines.

The task of the Piemonte Region is to promote the adoption, by local territorial bodies, in the exercise of their respective administrative and planning functions, of the regulatory, planning, programming and administrative activities of regional competence in the field of the environment and territory. Pursuing local government policies and environmental protection objectives means participating in initiatives and projects with regional, national and European significance.
