The Regional Observatory for Energy, Climate and Air is the result of bringing together twenty major players in the fields of energy, climate and air quality on the territory of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.
In 2014, ORE became ORECA, thus integrating themes of air and climate in its skills and adding them to its annual report. They are also the subject of a particular follow-up including a partnership with Météo France for an analysis of the evolution of the climate in the region.
The Observatory strives to bring statistical and methodological coherence to different data related to energy, climate and air. It participates in the advancement of Territorial Climate Energy Plans (PCAET) and the follow-up of the Regional Scheme planning, sustainable development and Territories Equality (SRADDET). Data from ORECA was used to build the “Carbon Neutrality” trajectory integrated into the SRADDET whose first version was adopted by the Region in October 2018.
